With the new President Elect taking office in just a few short months, green policy is one of the primary issues facing our country. The incoming administration’s approach to green energy and renewable initiatives focuses on energy independence and proposes to:
- Help create five million new jobs by strategically investing $150 billion over the next ten years to catalyze private efforts to build a clean energy future
- Put one million (American-built) plug-in hybrid cars – cars that can get up to 150 mpg – on the road by 2015
- Ensure 10% of electricity comes from renewable sources by 2012, and 25% by 2025
- Implement an economy-wide cap-and-trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050
